Unique Catch, a two-year-old colt by the Captaintreacherous horse Catch The Fire, scored his most important harness racing success in the $50,000 Ohio Fairs Championship at Northfield Park on Saturday (Oct 19).
After receiving a perfect trip, Unique Catch was extricated to the outside at the three-quarter pole and finished resolutely to win by a nose in 1:55.8.
He has won nine of his 12 starts for $70,653 in stakes.
Catch The Fire, who is standing at the Somerset Farms stud, of Pete McMullen and Chantal Turpin, has left the winners of almost $700,000 from his first American crop. From 50 foals, he has sired 36 starters and 19 winners with 17 in 2:00 and nine in 1:5
A Rocknroll Dance, who stands alongside Catch The Fire at the Queensland nursery, left winners at Melton (Pablo Rocks) and Addington, NZ (Still Rockin) recently.
The progeny of Catch The Fire and A Rocknroll Dance are eligible for the rich QBred scheme which carries a $14,000 first win bonus, a $7,500 second win bonus and a $3,000 third win bonus.
