Prolific Fire, a classy two-year-old filly and one of the first crop of Catch The Fire, who is standing at Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms in Queensland, hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:53.6 and scored her most important harness racing success in the $66,800 Ohio Breeders Championship at the half-mile track at Delaware, Ohio on Sunday (September 14).

Prolific Fire

It was her second success and lifted her stake tally to $118,375.

Another Catch The Fire filly to taste feature race success recently was Guard The Fire, who won a $20,000 division of the Buckeye Stallion Series in 1:55 at Scioto Downs.

Catch The Fire, a 1:46.8 $1.5 million winning son of Captaintreacherous, has made rather a spectacular start to his siring career in America. From 50 foals, he has left 35 starters and 17 winners with eight in 1:55 and 15 in 2:00 and they have earned more than $530,000.

Catch The Fire’s studmate A Rocknroll Dance has produced a swag of winners on both sides of the Tasman during the past few weeks.

They include the grand old warrior Blacksadance 1:52.5 (Albion Park), the Melton winners Ghost Of Time (1:54.2) and Dance Affair (1:54.6), the Addington winner Double Time and two ‘new’ two-year-old winners in Kasbah (1:56.2) and Pinkchampagne 1:57.8 (Albion Park).

A Rocknroll Dance has sired 145 individual winners in Australia this season and they have banked over $3 million.
