A winning double in the $140,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold series at Woodbine Mohawk Park over the weekend has continued the dominance of Cattlewash 1:46.8 ($1.3 million) in Canada. The son of Somebeachsomewhere is the leading two-year-old harness racing sire in Canada and is second on the North American two-year-old sires’ premiership.

A Clean Deal

A Clean Deal, a two-year-old filly, stretched her unbeaten winning sequence to three and increased her bankroll to $108,040 when she captured the $Can140,000 feature on Thursday (July 17). After leading early then handing up, she finished brilliantly along the rail to win in 1:51.6.

Meanwhile, Beau Jangles led in a Cattlewash quinella in the $Can$140,000 OSS Gold event for two-year-old colts and geldings on Saturday (July 19).

Sent to the top just before the half-mile peg, the colt powered home in the stretch to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:51.2. Tillthecowscomehome was a strong second.

A $65,000 yearling purchase, Beau Jangles is two for two for $102,900 in stakes.

Cattlewash has already produced six sub-1:53 two-year-olds this season.

On the Friday night (July 18), Cattlewash’s progeny made a clean sweep of the $Can$25,000 legs of the OSS Grassroots legs for two-year-old fillies, taking all four divisions, with P N G Shadow (1:52.6), No Better Air (1:53.6), Cackle Berry (1:53.8) and Chicanery (1:54.2).

Cattlewash’s three-year-olds have already surpassed $1 million this season as he ranks No. 1 in North America for average earnings per starter.

Cattlewash’s frozen semen is available to both Australian and New Zealand breeders from Yirribee Stud, Wagga (NSW) this season. His service fee in Australia is $5,500 including GST plus the 15 percent HRA levy and in NZ for $6,900 incl. GST. Multiple mare discounts are available.
