Brilliant A Rocknroll Dance gelding Blacksadance put the seal on a terrific harness racing season when he outstayed a top field in the Christmas Cup at Albion Park on Saturday night (Dec 17).
Second last on settling down, the five-year-old reeled off fractions of 29.1, 27.7, 28 and 28.2 on his way to 6.1 metres win. The mile rate for the gruelling 2680 metres was 1:55.5.

Earlier in the season Blacksadance won the Group 3 Be Good Johnny Sprint and established a fresh Albion Park track record at 1:49.2. He boasts stake earnings of $240,397.
On the other side of the continent, the A Rocknroll Dance gelding Beat City took his seasonal earnings to over $100,000 and his lifetime stakes to $223,885 when he outsprinted his rivals at Gloucester Park.
A Rocknroll Dance, who is eighth on the Australian siresā list this season with $4.1 million, sired winners in four different countries and five States last week.
Other Australian winners sired by him included Calculating Dancer (Cranbourne), Duffy Hollow NZ (Geelong), Ace Star (Swan Hill), Rocknburn NZ (Leeton), La Toison Dor (Canberra) and Queenofdance NZ (Burnie).
In New Zealand, A Rocknroll Dance was represented by the Addington three-year-old winner South Seas Rock and Missmollygoodgolly (Rangiora), while in North America he sired The Bird Dance NZ, a 1:51 winner at The Meadowlands, and Dancing Lew (1:53.4).
