Tuesday, 14 March, saw the 2023 WomenCan Team Teal harness racing campaign come to a close at Club Menangle, with $7,000 being donated to the campaign from success at our track.

2023 Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational (left to right): Jackie Gibson (Club Menangle Director), James Nock (CUB Premium Beverages), Olivia Frisby, McKayler Barnes, Emma Turnbull, Jemma Coney, Hannah Rixon, Amanda Turnbull, Stephanie Morris, Taylah Osmond, Grace Panella and Sofia Arvidsson.

Throughout the six-week period, which commenced on 1 February, female reinswomen competed in teal pants to drive awareness of ovarian cancer, all while raising funds from wins recorded across Australia and New Zealand.

Club Menangle is proud to have contributed $200 for every female driving and training win at our track, with a total of 35 wins, including three wins that were both trained and driven by female participants.

“Another wonderful result has been achieved at Club Menangle for the Team Teal campaign. A big congratulations and thank you must be extended to all our female participants who were extraordinary representatives in the teal pants.” said Club Menangle CEO Bruce Christison.

The Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles hosted by Club Menangle saw the campaign shine on Australasia’s grandest Harness Racing stage, with Kate Gath donning the teal pants to victory in the Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire and Garrards Miracle Mile with Catch A Wave.

On Schweppes Ladies Night, Amanda Turnbull achieved Group One glory in the teal colours as she took out the John Gibson Memorial NSW Oaks Final with Windy Hill Tara on the same meeting where she claimed driving honours in the Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational aboard the KerryAnn Morris trained Port Au Prince NZ.

In the training ranks, Harness Racing NSW Team Teal ambassadors Belinda McCarthy and KerryAnn Morris were also notable contributors, with eight and five winners recorded throughout the campaign at our track, respectively.

Club Menangle look forward to participating in the 2024 WomenCan Team Teal campaign, with further details to be announced closer to the commencement.
