The Breeders Crown triumphs of Queen Elida NZ (by Love You) and Im Ready Jet (by Quaker Jet) at Melton and a trifecta in the SA Trotters Derby at Globe Derby Park were the highlights of a stellar weekend for Haras Des Trotteursā stallions.
Queen Elida proved she is the cream of her crop overwhelming her rivals are racing midfield most of the way in the Group 1 $80,000 Breeders Crown Final. It was her seventh success on end and her 11th from 20 starts.
Queen Elida has earned $151,110 this season and is the highest stakemoney winner for her age and gait by a wide margin.
Meanwhile, Im Ready Jet completed a remarkable Breeders Crown sweep when she scored a runaway success in the Group 2 $30,000 four-year-old maresā Championship. She rated 1:57.5 over 2240 metres including a flying 57.6 seconds final half.
A Breeders Crown champion at 2 and 3, Im Ready Jet boasts the enviable record of 13 wins and six placings from 29 starts for $234,500 in stakes.
My Used To Be, a gelding by Used To Me, proved a class above his rivals in the SA Derby, leading home Quick Quaker (by Quaker Jet) and Lovelorn (by Love You).
Love You, this seasonās leading sire of three-year-old trotters and second on the two-year-old list, produced four Breeders Crown heat winners at Maryborough. The quartet were the two-year-olds Tough Love (3rd in Final) and Keayang Chucky and the three-year-olds Queen Elida and Parisian Artiste, who finished first and third respectively in their finals.
Love You was also represented by a ānewā two-year-old winner in Fremarkstilly and the three-year-old Robbinmemates.
Fancy, a three-year-old daughter of Quaker Jet, extended her winning sequence to five at the Menangle midweek meeting, while Chateaubriant (by Used To Me) chalked up win No. 4 on the same card.
