The Haras Des Trotteurs’ stallions Bird Parker and Quaker Jet sired Group harness racing winners in the northern and southern hemispheres respectively last Saturday.
Bird Parker, a world champion son of Ready Cash, was represented by the four-year-old mare Izoard Vedaquais, who took out the Group 3 Prix de Geneve (2875 metres), run at Enghien, Paris and carrying a purse of 90,000 euros. The mare has now won 15 races and 600,000 euros.
Meanwhile, Quaker Jet’s bonny daughter Imamaorijet produced an electrifying finish along the passing lane to down a top field in the Group 3 $24,000 Lightfoot Laurels at Melton. It was her eighth success and her second at Group/Listed level and lifted her stake tally to just shy of $90,000.
Quaker Jet was also represented by other metropolitan winners in Gunner (1:57.6, Menangle) and Quick Quaker (Globe Derby Park). Quaker Jet has sired 17 winners from 24 starters in Australia and they have earned an average of $46,989!
Love You, the sire of Quaker Jet, sired five winners for the week headed up by Affaire De Cover (Menangle), the Auckland victor Share The Love and the Victorian provincial winners Yankee Lover, Tictok and Kyvalley Picasso NZ.
Bundalong Bruiser, a four-year-old by the French stallion Used To Me, became his sire’s 20th Australian-bred winner from only 31 starters when he saluted at Bendigo last Friday night.
The Best Madrik, a son of Love You’s sire Coktail Jet, sired the convincing end-to-end Menangle winner Right Moves (1:57.4). The mare has now won 12 races and $95,000 and is the richest progeny of her sire.
