When the international spotlight is brightest Dexter Dunn’s well used to stealing the show and the Kiwi reinsman’s hoping to continue that tonight when he takes on Australia’s harness racing entrant in Eliloppet.
Dunn will pair with Stoletheshow (Dream Vacation) in the first of the heats, drawn gate three steering Frode Hamre’s local entrant, who’s a $16 chance with TAB.com.auto advance to the final in winning fashion.
“He’s been racing really good this year,” Dunn told TrotsVision’s Ryan Phelan. “They said he’s going to be 100 per cent, whether he’ll be good enough we’ll find out. It’s obviously a strong field, a strong ElitloppetĀ they said.”
Dunn predicted plenty of banter on track in the 11.28pm heat, which also features fellow Australasian Just Believe.
“It’s great to see Greg (Sugars) and Jess (Tubbs),Ā haven’t seen them in years,” he said.
“Obviously I lived in Melbourne when I was 16, 17 when I was starting off. We’ll be taking them on, it will be good fun.”
