Two of Victoria’s most promising trotters, Hopeful Beauty (by Brillantissime) and Beau Garcon (by Orlando Vici), took out the two Group 3 trotting harness racing features over the Easter holiday period.
Hopeful Beauty, a five-year-old French-bred mare, divebombed a top field after coming from midfield to easily win the Trotters Free-for-all at Melton.
She rated 1:58.8 for 2240 metres with the last 800 in a slick 56.5 seconds.
It was her ninth success and lifted her stake tally to beyond $90,000.
The following day, Beau Garcon, a six-year-old gelding, led throughout to capture the Warragul Trotters Cup. He has now won 11 races and $80,000.
Orlando Vici was also represented by the Cambridge Raceway, New Zealand three-year-old winner Voronov.
Luna, a four-year-old daughter of Used To Me, became her sire’s 14th individual winner from 26 starters when she scored her maiden success at Bendigo recently.
Speedy Lover, a three-year-old gelding by Love You, made it two wins from four starts with a very impressive score at Maryborough. Locksley Lover (Shepparton) and Jasinova (Cambridge Raceway) were other winners sired by Love You last week.
Love You, Brillantissime, Orlando Vici and Used To Me are all members of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat.
