Easy $125,000 Group One success for Sweet Lou filly

Speedy filly Steno grabbed an easy Group One win for harness racing trainer Cameron Ross when she rushed home from a trailing position to secure victory in the APG Sydney Sale March 2023 Gold Bullion Series 31 3YO Fillies Final (Gr1) tonight at Menangle run over a mile.

Steno was beautifully driven by driver Jack Callaghan, who pushed the button early before handing to second favourite Madrid with a lap to go.

After getting a perfect run in the trail, Steno (Sweet Lou) pulled to the middle of the track and powered home to win going away from Miss Ex who was huge after sitting parked. Smooth Bon Bon ran home well for third.

The winner ran the 1609m mobile in 1:53.4.
