The TAB Eureka favorite Leap To Fame (Bettor’s Delight) had little more than a training workout at Albion Park on Saturday night in preparation for the worldās richest harness race next month.
Leap To Fame ($1.04 fav) cruised around early in the race to sit outside the leader Mr McLaren before Grant Dixon allowed the four-year-old more rein on the final bend.
With Dixon barely moving in the sulky, Leap To Fame reeled off a 26.6 last 400 metres returning a mile rate of 1:53.2 for the 2138 metre journey.
Dixon is satisfied in the final countdown to The TAB Eureka with the son of Bettors Delight.
āHe did it well,ā Dixon said.
LEAP TO FAME REPLAY
Leap To Fame enjoyed a couple of days off following his second placing behind Swayzee in The Blacks A Fake a fortnight ago and Dixon is undecided whether the horse will have another outing prior to the big race.
āWeāll see how he is tomorrow and the next day and then decide if he needs one more run here at home before The Eureka,ā he said.
Leap To Fame is the $2.25 favorite for The TAB Eureka ahead of Catch A Wave ($3.50) and the three-year-old The Lost Storm ($6).
Catch A Wave had an exhibition work out with Group 1 winner Mach Dan at Geelong on Friday night and shaded his opponent on the line running his last mile in 1:55.4.
āThatās a perfect hit out for him and hopefully heās come through it well,ā trainer Andy Gath said after the workout.
