Owners and trainers will be treated to attractive incentives for nominating horses for the Elmore Cup Race Night to be conducted at Bendigo on Tuesday, November 16.
Originally scheduled for Boxing Day at Elmore, the cup meeting was transferred to the midweek date at Bendigo to maximise exposure and club secretary Gary Cooper said there were many benefits associated with the transfer.
“Participants will have access to the excellent facilities provided by the Bendigo club, as will the public, who will be welcomed back on course though under COVID-19 restrictions,” Cooper said.
“Industry participants and the public will need to remain separated from each other, while the number of public permitted will be limited to meet density limits.
“Prior bookings will be required for owners and the public via the Bendigo club and only those with proof of double vaccination will be admitted.”
A key benefit to the venue change is the two feature races – the O’Sullivans Transport Elmore Pacing Cup and the Elmore Lockington Rochester Community Bank Trotters Cup – will offer $10,000 in prizemoney, compared to the previous $4500.
Other races will also have $7000 stakes on offer, compared to the $4500 stakes previously available.
The pacing cup is also offering a free service to Guaranteed to the winning owner, valued at $1980 courtesy of Goodtime Lodge, as well as a gold cup and inscribed rug.
Other races will offer rugs and trophies to the winning connections, including the trotters cup, which gifts a gold cup and rug to the winner.
In addition, a range of trainer bonuses will be randomly gifted for each race throughout the night, courtesy of sponsors Manburley Farm/McSwain Racing, Sandhurst Produce and Rothacker Stockfeeds.
These bonuses will include stockfeed, feed vouchers and a range of horse-related products provided by these sponsors. Nominations close at noon on Wednesday, November 10.
