Ex Kiwi pacer wins the $150,000 Tasmania Cup

Raging hot favourite Wheres The Gold (Somebeachsomewhere) has taken out the Group One $150,000 Tasmania Cup tonight (Mar. 18) in the hand of harness racing driver Mark Pitt.

Wheres The Gold was safely away in the 2579m standing start event from barrier nine eventually settling in the one out and one back position. With a lap to go Pitt was off to the front and Wheres The Gold had enough in reserve in the home straight to run out a strong winner.

Stravinsky ran second and Rackemup Tigerpie battled on well for third.

Emma Stewart trained the winner who has now had five wins and a second since coming to Australia from the New Zealand stable of leading trainers Steve and Amanda Telfer.
