A third young Victorian harness racing star will chase September riches after TAB selected exciting three-year-old colt The Lost Storm (Captaintreacherous) to represent its slot for the inaugural $2.1 million TAB Eureka.
Tabcorp Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Adam Rytenskild said TAB was excited to be part of the The Lost Stormās journey and to be the naming rights partner of harness racingās biggest race at Club Menangle on September 2.
āWeāre thrilled to have secured The Lost Storm for our slot in the TAB Eureka. Heās one of Australiaās most promising pacers with seven wins from nine starts, and his eye-catching last start win in the Vicbred Super Series final in December 2022 has shown he can certainly win the race,āā he said. Ā
āThe TAB Eureka is Harness Racing Australiaās most exciting raceĀ and we are proud to be the naming rights sponsor of the event. The TAB will always back harness racing and its participants.āĀ
Five of the 10 slots have already been taken in the TAB Eureka with Captain Ravishing, Catch A Wave, Leap To Fame and My Ultimate Ronnie already secured along with The Lost Storm.
The Lost Stormās trainer Emma Stewart said the colt was primed for a big campaign in the lead into the TAB Eureka in early September.
āHeās got that presence about him, heās got great gate speed and heās got a sharp turn of foot, so we think heās the perfect runner to go up against the older horses in this race,ā Stewart said.
The stable is thrilled to have been selected by TAB for the inaugural running of the TAB Eureka.
āTAB are great supporters of harness racing, so we couldnāt think of teaming up with anyone better for this race,ā she said.
āTo have a race with this much prize money attached to it is exciting for our sport, and the exposure that The Lost Storm will have in the lead up is a huge deal for our stable.ā
The Lost Storm is set to start his campaign on Saturday, July 8, at Albion Park in the highly anticipated $350,000 Group 1 The Rising Sun, featuring some of Australasia’s premier three and four-year-old pacers.
