The new QBRED Cashback offer will be on offer during the annual Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale and Parade this Sunday, March 24.
The sale will be conducted by Darren Ebert & Co at the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club, with a parade of yearlings to be held at 10am, followed by the sale at 12pm.
Racing Queensland and the RHRC will sponsor a complimentary barbecue breakfast and refreshments to coincide with the yearling parade.
RQ will also host an event as part of the “Own The Morning” Series, with leading Queensland trainer Graham Dwyer joining to discuss harness racing, the intricacies of buying a yearling, and the sale day process.
Syndicator John Hancox will also speak at the parade.
“Graham will provide an insight as to how he selects his yearlings and John will talk about his syndication model and how it works,” Redcliffe HRC President Bernie Ring said.
“We are looking forward to again hosting the sale and parade for what will be an exciting day for the local harness racing industry.”
Vouchers will be presented to the preparers of the best-presented colt and filly at the parade.
Buyers of QBRED yearlings will be eligible for the new QBRED Cashback offer of $2,000, for purchases of $7,500 or more at the sale.
All horses sold on the day will be eligible to compete in the $125,000 Redcliffe Sale Race Classic for two-year-olds in 2025, and the $50,000 Sale Race Classic for three-year-olds in 2026.
RQ Senior Racing Manager – Harness David Brick said that support for the breeding industry in Queensland – primarily via the QBRED scheme – has been a priority in recent years with over $4 million paid out in stakes and bonuses over the last 12 months.
“QBRED has been pivotal in growing participant confidence within the Queensland harness racing industry, which has in turn resulted in record race numbers, starters and prize money in recent seasons,” he said.
“The QBRED cashback offer is designed to build on this confidence and support those that breed, buy and back QBRED horses throughout the upcoming sales season.
“Importantly, the offer is available for any QBRED that sells for over $7,500 at the three sales but strictly excludes buybacks.”
QBRED’s status as the nation’s premier harness breeding incentive bonus scheme continues in 2024.
Hard copy catalogues of the sale are available from the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club, all Garrard’s Horse & Hound stores or by contacting auctioneer Darren Ebert on 0410 688 176.
