Exciting three-year-old Fighter Command (Always B Miki) booked a place in the world’s richest harness race, the $2.1m TAB Eureka, when he outclassed his harness racing rivals in the $80,000 The Beautide in Hobart.
Sent out a $1.30 favorite, Fighter Command worked three wide early before assuming the front running with 1600 metres to travel.
Greg Sugars allowed the favorite more rein with 600 metres to travel and the son of Always B Miki bounded away from his rivals leaving main dangers Nyack and De Goey in his wake and cruised to the line scoring by 16 metres in a slick mile rate of 1:55.3.
Fighter Command has now won eight of his 11 lifetime starts and will prove a worthy representative for Tasmania at Menangle on September 7.
