A filly from the second crop of the USA 3YO Colt of the Year Downbytheseaside brought the top price of $32,000 at the Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale at Carrick Park on Saturday afternoon.
Offered by Melissa Maine, of Faithful Park stud, Latrobe, the lovely, athletic filly out of the Bettorās Delight mare Itz Gemmas Delight, was purchased by Craig Young.
The leading price paid for a male yearling was $26,000 was the Betting Line-Belliciouslips gelding, offered by Jamie Cockshutt and Barry Cooper and secured by Troy Madden.
Tasmaniaās premier trainer Ben Yole bought two colts at the sale, one a Mel Mara-Karalta Crown colt for $23,000 and the other by Always B Miki from Angel Or Demon at $18,000.
An Always B Miki filly out of Vishapala, a close relative of Pachacuti, fetched $20,000.
Of the 15 lots presented 11 were sold at a gross of $183,000, an average price of $16,636.
