The Jess Tubbs trained harness racing filly First Dance (A Rocknroll Dance) landed a betting plunge when she led all the way in the first heat of the Pryde’s Easifeed Victoria Oaks.
WALTZED IN!

The weight of money resulted in First Dance ($2.30 fav) displacing Sahara Breeze ($3) as favorite for the race.
Greg Sugars allowed First Dance time to balance up before striding to the front with 2400 metres to travel and the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance reeled off a 26.6 last 400 metres in defeating a gallant Sahara Breeze by two metres.
Sugars said the stable rated First Dance as a filly with a bright future.
“We’ve got a lot of time for this filly we really like her but we had a lot of favours tonight and it won’t be that easy next week, but she got the job done nicely,” Sugars said.
“She’s pretty close to the mark fitness wise but that will top her off nicely,” he said.
First Dance is a younger half-sister to Triple Eight who was runner up in the Smoken Up Sprint.
“She is such a big filly she’s a different body shape to her brother so we knew we had to give her time, so she’s only been lightly raced,” he said.
“We pulled the pin early in the season to give her a good break and we’re starting to see the benefits from that now.”
