Sydney reinsman Blake Fitzpatrick is renowned for his horsemanship and has been one of the top harness racing drivers in New South Wales for many years.
However, Fitzpatrick achieved a rare feat on Tuesday where he trained two winners at two different tracks and two different codes.
Fitzpatrick saluted with his trotter Fancy at Menangle and 45 minutes later his thoroughbred Assertive Ace won at Moruya.
āIt was a good day for the team to get a winner in each code,ā he said.
Despite Fitzpatrickās training abilities coming to the fore this week, his driving skills will be the focus at Penrith tonight.
Fitzpatrick has booked four drives for outside stables.
He will combine with in-form conditioner Jack Trainor for two of the drives with Chevron Art in race two and Iambecauseofyou in race seven.
Fitzpatrick will also team up with Wayne Dimech in race one with Merrywood Lynn and then trainer David Thorn with Shallow Pockets in race eight.
