Stallions on the Haras Des Trotteurs’ roster left 2022 with a bang at the Group 1 harness racing meeting at Melton. They sired an amazing four of the six winners of the $100,000 Vicbred Super Series Finals.
Orlando Vici left a winning double with brilliant three-year-old Cravache Dor and talented four-year-old mare Visionary.
Quaker Jet sired the winner of the three-year-old fillies’ division in Revelstoke, while Love You was represented by the winner of the four-year-old males’ final in Locksley Lover.
Cravache Dor, who led for the last 1600 metres and rated a slick 1:56.6 for the 2240 metres, notched his sixth win from his last seven starts and his 12th from 21 lifetime appearances. He has now earned $201,370.
Visionary maintained her devastating form with an effortless win, her fifth from nine starts last season.
Revelstoke, a commanding winner in a career-best 1:57.5 rate, led in a Haras Des Trotteurs trifecta with Lindy’s Love (by Love You) second and Used To Be A Maid (by Used To Me) third.
Locksley Lover scored his most important success to date when he outsprinted the leader Don’t Care (by Used To Me) in 1:58.7.
Revelstoke and Locksley Lover both sent their stake tallies over the $100,000 mark.
Other recent Love You winners were the two-year-old filly Jilliby Jetpack, who posted her maiden success in the Group 3 Vicbred Silver at Maryborough, and the New Zealand victors Matua Tana (Banks Peninsula), Anteros (Gore) and Eurokash (Reefton).
En Solitaire. a well bred son of Ready Cash, was represented by his first winner from his first small ‘down under’ crop when the two-year-old filly Sista Evarista emerged successful at her second start at Maryborough.
