Franco Totem, a New Zealand-bred seven-year-old gelding, was the headline act of a brilliant first week of August for his sire, the Burwood Stud flagship Changeover.
Franco Totem won a $17,500 Open at Hoosier Park, Indiana on Saturday night (August 7) in 1:50.6 with the last quarter in 26.4 seconds and has now earned over $US280,000.
Changeover sired winners in three different countries and four Australian states.
His winners in Victoria were Whereyagoinbabe (1:58.6) and Presidentialchange (1:58.9), Soho Beijing won his 14th race in 1:58.7 at Wagga, Overpowering scored in 1:59.4 at Globe Derby Park and Changingoftheguard emerged successful at Northam.
Other overseas winners sired by Changeover recently have been Shardās Fury (Addington, NZ) and Bronze Over NZ, who won a $30,000 race at Yonkers Raceway, New York in 1:54.8.
Changeover has left 56 individual winners in Australia this year for $875,000 in stakes.
