The French-bred mare Hopeful Beauty, a five-year-old daughter of Brillantissime, hoisted a fresh track record and sent her earnings over the $100,000 mark when she emerged successful in harness racing’s Group 2 $30,000 Yarra Valley Trotters Cup.
Coming off a 10 metre handicap, the mare was caught without a trail before gaining cover with a lap to go. Peeled three wide in the home straight, Hopeful Beauty led down with a brilliant finishing flourish to score by two metres.
The mile rate for the 2650 metres standing start was 2:00.6 including the last 800 in 57.2 seconds.
The multiple Group-winning sire Quaker Jet left a winning ādoubleā at Globe Derby Park last weekend. The three-year-old filly Atout became her sireās first derby winner when she took out the SA Trotters Derby, while Quick Quaker overcame a 30 metre handicap to win by a staggering 27 metres.
The Best Madrik, who has a 100 per cent strike rate at stud, was represented by Right Moves, who clocked a slick 1:56.5 winning her 14th race at Menangle. She has earned almost $110,000.

Meanwhile, Used To Me picked up his first New Zealand credit with his first progeny, the three-year-old Taylad To Use, a winner at Auckland.
Love You, who is enjoying his best ever season ādown underā, chimed in with three winners in Luvaflair (Pinjarra), Cruise Liner (Auckland) and the three-year-old Nazareth (Kaikoura).
Brillantissime, Quaker Jet, The Best Madrik, Used To Me and Love You are members of the sire roster at Haras Des Trotteurs near Ballarat (Vic.).
