Former New Zealand filly Works For Me (Bettor’s Delight) is being mooted by keen judges in harness racing as a star of the future following two impressive wins at Bathurst in recent weeks.

Purchased by clients of Anthony Frisby, the three-year-old filly has broken the clock in her two Australian starts, with her most recent win seeing her lead and destroy a handy field in the Soldiers Saddle, when she rated a slick 1:53.7 by a margin of more than 14m.
Tonight, at Dubbo, Frisby is showing his optimism with the filly by taking on an open-class field in the $30,600 Medowie Lodge Red Ochre Fillies and Mares Classic., an obvious rise in grade for the youngster.
This year’s edition of the Red Ochre has brought together an exceptionally strong field including classic winning filly Saveeon for Ash Grieves and the well credentialed metropolitan performer, Ideal In Dreams which is trained in Menangle Park by David Thorn.
Frisby is well-aware of the huge task that Work For Me faces, knowing she will need to step up if she is to conquer her biggest test to date.
“We understand how big a jump in grade this is for our filly,” said Frisby.
“But the way she has won her two starts for us, has her ownership group very excited and we are confident that she can take that big step to be competitive in races like the Red Ochre.”
“The handicapping conditions of the race ensured that she would draw well, and she has shown that she has the gate speed to push forward and find a position which helped us make the decision to contest the feature.
“If we can find the front from gate three, I feel that she will be hard to run down.
“But there are some really classy fillies and mares in the field that I fully respect.
“Works For Me is a very strong filly that can just drop through her gears so easily and gives me a good feel when I sit behind her.”
Frisby has a second runner in the Red Ochre, namely Twilight Bonnie who is first up from a spell since transferring to his stable.
He is happy with the way the filly has come to hand since joining his stable, a solid Bathurst trial on Monday, convincing him she was worthy of a start.
