Harness Racing Victoria is pleased to announce Greg Gangle as its new Head of Racing.

HRV chief executive officer Matt Isaacs said Gangle had been elevated to the role after originally joining the organisation as Clubs Manager in May.
“Our Racing team at HRV programs over 4200 races annually, processing 56,000 race nominations across 28 racing locations,” Isaacs said.
“Greg will be tasked with building on our leading racing program and innovating collaboratively with HRV and industry stakeholders for wagering performance and, ultimately, financial returns to our participants.
“Greg has domestic and international experience in our industry and will be a crucial facilitator of innovation in our core capability, racing.”
Before joining HRV, Gangle was the CEO of Wagga Wagga Harness Racing Club and led the Riverina Regional Clubs Committee. Prior to that, he was the Racing Manager at Western Fair Raceway in London, Ontario, Canada, a role he took on after spending eight years at the company that controls that country’s largest racetrack, Woodbine Entertainment Group in Toronto.
The 36-year-old Gangle said it was a privilege to be appointed to such an important position at HRV.
“I’m looking forward to working with industry stakeholders to create innovative racing initiatives, including our racing calendar and programming that will enhance participation, grow wagering and maximise returns to industry,” he said.
“I appreciate the support from the Board and our Executive team for this transitionary role.”
In November, General Manager of Racing Stephen Bell announced he was departing Harness Racing Victoria following five years of service.
