Harness racing’s new Wingate Farm, Wagga (NSW) had a red-letter night at Menangle on Saturday (Nov. 12) with their sires providing the winners of two of the four Group 1 $100,000 NSW Breeders Challenge Blue Series Finals.
Tintin In America sired the quinella pair in the three-year-old colts and geldings finale with Mahomes and Tims A Trooper, while Saveeon (Warrawee Needy) took out the final for two-year-old fillies. The win lifted her over the $100,000 stakes plateau.
Mahomes, who has won nine of his 12 starts this season, was bred by Wingate Farm principal Jack Stockton.
On the same night Uncle Shank (Warrawee Needy), a multiple Group winner, notched his 16th success from 25 starts at Albion Park to send his stake earnings beyond $150,000.
Warrawee Needy was also represented by another Albion Park winner in The Grogfather, who completed his third win from his last four outings.
Logan Dream, a daughter of Tintin In America, became her sireās tenth individual two-year-old winner this season when she emerged successful at Blayney. Other recent Tintin In America winners included Wotdidusaaay, a winner in 1:56.9 at Cranbourne, and Grinning Again (Manawatu, NZ).
Woddidusaaayās success pushed Tintin In Americaās progeny earnings this season over the $1 million mark for the first time.
