Promising Tintin In America two-year-old filly Oliveira tasted Group success for the first time when she annexed harness racing’s $30,000 NSW Breeders Challenge Western Region Final at Wagga on Friday (Dec. 9).

After racing midfield in the running line, the filly was disappointed for racing room on the home turn but soon after found an opening and exploded over the top of her rivals.

Her mile rating of 1:56.4 for 1740 metres was a new lifetime mark.

Tintin In America was also represented by a winner in New Zealand in Grinning Again and the North American winners Nimah Franco NZ (1:55.6) and Titanium NZ.

Warrawee Needy picked up two ‘new’ two-year-old credits at the Bathurst midweek meeting in Logan Reason (1:57.9) and Flat Biccy (2:00). Warrawee Needy has now sired eight individual two-year-old winners this season from a crop of 32 foals – a very creditable strike rate of 25 percent.

Fear The Dragon has sired three-year-old winners of more than $2 million in 2022, while his two-year-olds have banked $1.14 million. The former North America Cup winner is riding high on both money-winning sires’ lists.

Tintin In America, Warrawee Needy and Fear The Dragon are members of the Wingate Farm sire roster at Wagga (NSW).
