Guaranteed to stand in NSW

The Artsplace horse Guaranteed 1:50.4 ($856,316), one of the most gifted harness racing pacers ever to race in this country, is standing this season at the newly established Artistic Lodge, Blayney (NSW), of Jody Bryant and Cindy Bourke. His service fee is a modest $2,200 including GST.

Actually, Guaranteed has made rather an imposing start as a sire. He has left 27 individual winners from 37 starters, an amazing 73 percent strike rate, and his ratio of winners-to-foals three-years-old and older is almost 40 percent.

In his first season he left 27 foals, and of these he had 18 to the races and 15 winners. Of 15 four-year-old starters, 11 have emerged successful and two have been placed.

From his first crops he has sired the Victorian and NSW country cups winner Pas Guarantee 1:54.9 ($155,977), the Melton and Bathurst winner Hello I Tea (1:56.3), the smart Tasmanian pacer Royal Appointment and the metropolitan winners Sea Flyer (1:55.5), Celestial Zodiac and Two Way Wonder.

Guaranteed was a top racehorse himself, winning more than $850,000, and he was a Group 1 winner every season from two to five years.

Among his list of successes were the Vicbred Super Series at two and three, the Tatlow Memorial, Chariots of Fire, Kilmore Cup, South Australian Pacing Cup, Paleface Adios Sprint and City of Melton Plate.

Guaranteed has an all-American breeding background and one which has been most successful. By Artsplace 1:49.4 ($3 million), the leading American sire on six occasions and the sire of the winners of over $170 million, he is out of Jadah Rose 1:49.6 ($465,424), a dual Vicbred champion and the first Australian bred mare to enter the 1:50 list.

Jadah Rose, who won 31 races in Australia and North America, is also the dam of the multiple Listed winner Jadahson ($277,390) and the second dam of Pacifico Dream 1:51 ($423,736) and the Oaks winner Momentslikethese ($211,627).

Jadah Rose was out of Karamea Toastime (dam of 7 in 2:00), by Armbro Aussie from Toast To Missy, an American-bred mare by the great Bret Hanover.

Boasting a family tree made up of champion sires, champion racehorses and champion broodmare sires, Guaranteed could make an interesting and valued contribution to NSW pedigrees.
