Gunna Reload, the $2.25 favorite, speared through from her inside draw to lead and driver Will Rixon decided to pinch a winning break around the home turn with the daughter of Sweet Lou straightening with a 10 metre advantage.Ā
Gunna Reload finished full of running in the home stretch scoring by three metres from Our Dance Monkey in a mile rate of 1:53.3.Ā
Gunna Reload is unbeaten at her past five starts and has now won five of her seven career outings.Ā
GUNNA RELOAD REPLAY
The second Semi Final was taken out by the Russell Jack trained Our Special Memory courtesy of a superb drive by Brad Hewitt.Ā
Our Special Memory was first to the pegs however she found herself buried three back along the markers after the $1.80 favorite Namaka and then in turn The Lady Dior took up the front running taking the field through a 27.2 first 400 metres.Ā
Somehow Hewitt managed to extricate Our Special Memory ($3.30) away from the pegs on straightening and the daughter of Bettors Delight burst through a gap over the concluding stages to score by half a head from Namaka in a mile rate of 1:53.2.
