SA BOTRA congratulates harness racing’s Lachlan Stace on winning the Career Advancement Award as part of the Gawler Carnival of Cups.
Lachlan adds this to the 2019 Nevada Smoke award won for services to Harness Racing.
Lachlan is a hard-working young 21-year-old who co-hosts the Harness Program on 1197am VA Radio each Saturday, calls Sunday trials, Pony Trots and Greyhound Racing, along with Starter duties at the dogs, MCās Race nights at Globe Derby and many other events, including Horse of the Year.
He started calling Pony Trots at the age of 10 a position he holds today.
Lachlan was also awarded a young talent scholarship a couple of years ago which saw him spend time at Sky Channel in Sydney, which Lachlan found invaluable.
Lachlan credits his mentors Jim Jacques and Brenton Yates for his success in his career to date and hopes to one day become a full time racecaller.
