ABC News reports that a final decision by an independent stewards panel has found Tasmanian harness racing trainer Ben Yole guilty of “mistreating” horses and has handed down a three-year disqualification.
Mr Yole was also found guilty of administering an injection to a horse within eight days of a race meeting, and was fined $5,000.
The three-year disqualification has been backdated to July 29, 2024.
It means Ben and Tim Yole cannot race, lease, train, drive or nominate a horse, enter any premises for the purpose of harness racing, or participate in the harness racing industry in any manner for the period of the disqualification.
