The best young harness racing driver in this part of the world is heading back to Gloucester Park.

And it will make for a heck of a busy weekend for Cam Hart, who confirmed he would partner My Ultimate Ronnie (Bettor’s Delight) in Friday night’s Group 1 Golden Nugget.

“There’s a red-eye (flight) back from Perth to Brisbane that night, and I’ll be on that,” Hart said.

That’s because Hart has a date with the Inter Dominion pacing final aboard recent New Zealand Cup winner Swayzee.

Hart’s going for back-to-back Inter Dominion pacing final wins after scoring aboard I Cast No Shadow at Melton last year.

Hart had the choice of driving the Jason Grimson-trained Swayzee or stablemate Nerano in the final.

He didn’t hesitate to stick with Swayzee despite the five-year-old being luckless in defeat in his second and third round Inter Dominion heats, while Nerano won both nights. Jack Trainor will drive Nerano.

Hart, who has a long association with trainer Jarrod Alchin, confirmed he would be making the trip to Perth after driving at Albion Park last night (Saturday).

“I won’t wait to see where he draws, I’m going,” he said.

The last time Hart went to Gloucester Park, he teamed with Grimson and Betterzippit to win the inaugural $1mil Nullarbor in April.

Making the trip back is a big vote of confidence after My Ultimate Ronnie ran well below his best when a tiring ninth in the Group 2 4YO Classic at his first WA run last Friday week.

Alchin remains mystified by the run and a battery of tests have shown no reason for the performance.

But Alchin quickly switched to looking ahead to the Nugget.

“We did blood tests and had the chiropractor to him, but couldn’t find anything, so we just had to turn the page,” he said.

Alchin was all smiles after taking My Ultimate Ronnie into Gloucester Park for a workout yesterday (Saturday) morning.

“He worked super this morning. He felt very sharp. It’s just the sort of feel I wanted from him” he said.
