Harness racing owner Emilio Rosati believes his star pacer Wolf Stride “is ready to make some big noise” this season.
The multiple Group 1 winning son of Rock N Roll Heaven was transferred to Andy Gath’s stable this morning following Rosati’s partnership with dual trainers Anthony Butt and Sonya Smith coming to an end.
Wolf Stride is expected to trial in the coming weeks.
“I believe Wolf Stride is going to make some big noise this season,” said Rosati.
“He’s had a good spell and has been brought up nicely and I think he can go to another level.
“He should be ready to trial in two to three weeks but that will be for Andy to find out because he just got the horse and I don’t expect to rush him.”
Rosati had most of his team with the Butt/Smith stable and has now transferred his horses to a number of trainers across Victoria.
“I’ve put my horses all over Melbourne,” said Rosati.
“No, I’m not happy about it, I’d love to keep my team in one place but it is what it is.
“Anthony did a fantastic job with my horses and we had some good times together but we both came to an agreement and this is where we are.
“It is a pity the way it’s gone.”
Wolf Stride had 26 starts with Butt for 16 wins, including three Group 1’s, and eight placings.
His last start was in the Group 1 Riverina Championship at Riverina Paceway on April 4, 2021, which Wolf Stride won.
Rosati is looking forward to more success with Wolf Stride and his team of horses.
“I’ve got some lovely horses including Elite Stride who has gone to stud,” Rosati said.
“He has an unbelievable pedigree and there’s no horse in the world bred better than him.
“I’m going to put all my mares in foal to him and I’m looking forward to see what he can do.
“I have a full-sister to Elite that Mark Hayes has broken in and she is very promising as well.”
Elite Stride is standing at Alabar Farms.
