Head of integrity resigns

Harness Racing Victoria General Manager of Integrity Brent Fisher.

General Manager of Integrity Brent Fisher has advised Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) of his resignation.

After six years with HRV Fisher’s final day will be January 4, 2022. He will join Racing Victoria as GM Investigations and Intelligence later in January.

Fisher, a former senior police detective, was appointed to the role of HRV GM Integrity in August of 2017 after two years as Manager of Investigations and Compliance.

During his tenure as GM Integrity, Fisher oversaw several enhancements to the HRV Integrity processes, including:

  • Embracing technology in investigation procedures
  • Introducing a robust animal welfare framework and education across the industry
  • Initiating Integrity Matters branding and communications channels
  • Establishment of “industry leading” integrity processes, as called out in the Racing Integrity Commissioner’s 2019 report Audit Report into the End-to-End Management of Investigations – Review of Harness Racing Victoria
  • Enhancement of the delivery and promotion of the HRV HERO program

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my six years at HRV and will leave the organisation proud of what the integrity team has been able to achieve during that time,” Fisher said.

“For me personally the time has come for a new challenge and this opportunity presented by Racing Victoria affords me that.”

HRV Chairman Dale Monteith thanked Fisher for his resolute commitment to leading his team and helping deliver a level playing field for participants in Victoria and wished him well for the future.

“This is a great opportunity for Brent as he takes the next step in his career. The HRV Board wishes him all the very best in his new role and we thank him for his efforts and commitment during his six years with HRV,” Monteith said.

“We will now commence the search process for the industry critical position of GM Integrity.”
