The Chris Svanosio trained harness racing mare Heavenly Charm (Rock N Roll Heaven) passed $100,000 in stake earnings after taking out the $20,000 Ian Daff Memorial Mares Pace at Melton.Ā
Heavenly Charm ($7) was used up early to maintain her place behind the leader Shanlou but the daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven still had sufficient left in reserve to charge though along the sprint lane andĀ score by a metre in a slick mile rate of 1:52.7 for the 1720 metre journey.Ā

Svanosio admitted he was concerned after having to ask the mare for an early effort to keep the leaderās back and await her chance along the sprint lane.Ā
āI was really working early to hold my spot and was hoping that it didnāt take too much out of her at the finish, she still travelled terrific after that so she did a great job,ā Svanosio said.Ā
Svanosio said Heavenly Charm had successfully returned from contesting the $30,000 George Johnson Final in Hobart.Ā
āShe had a trip to Tasmania and only got back eight or nine days ago and you donāt know how theyāre going to handle it, but she came home in great order and Iām rapt she was able to perform so well,ā he said.Ā
The mareās quick mile rate of 1:52.7 will delight her owners according to Svanosio.Ā
āItās great for the owners to have that sort of time beside her name and she should make a good broodmare but hopefully sheās still got a few more wins in her,ā he said.Ā
Heavenly Charm topped the $100,000 mark from nine wins and 13 placings.Ā
