Adam Hamilton writes in Racenet that girl power is set to dominate harness racing at Albion Park again on Saturday night.
The harness world is still buzzing after Ladies In Redās (Mach Three) breathtaking Rising Sun romp last Saturday night and now her potential heir apparent Amore Vita (Art Major) takes the baton into the Group 3 South-East Oaks this week.
In a stunning show of confidence for Amore Vitaās talent and potential, trainer Nathan Purdon already thinks she could be better than champion mare Amazing Dream, who won 10 Group 1 races, including last yearās Rising Sun.
āSheās as good as any horse Iāve driven (in work),ā Purdon said.
āAmazing Dream was such a great racehorse, so strong and versatile, but this filly has so much more point-to-point speed. Sheās got a 25sec quarter in her.
āShe just has everything, Amore Vita. Now itās a matter of whether she can keep developing, getting stronger and learning to run off the gate and relax when we ask her too.ā
Purdon ādeservesā Amore Vita after losing his two stable stars in recent months.
Amazing Dream went to America to continue her career in February and just last month his other top mare, Spellbound, succumbed to injury and was retired to the breeding barn.
āYou donāt just replace stars like them,ā Purdon said.
āBut life would certainly be harder if we didnāt have this filly to get up to every morning.ā
