The first ‘down under’ crop of the dual world champion Hes Watching (1:46.8), now standing at Luke Primmer’s Tipperary Equine stud, Young (NSW), continues to take all before them.
Experia, a New Zealand-bred three-year-old, sat parked before posting a career-best 1:51.3 winning effort at Menangle on Saturday night (December 12). It was the brown gelding’s fifth success and third at the Sydney headquarters’ track.
Magnifico To Watch and Watchmylips, both members of Hes Watching’s initial Australian crop, emerged successful at Penrith and Hobart respectively last weekend.
Magnifico To Watch, who rated 1:57.5, has now won four of his last five starts, while Watchmylips (1:59.2) has won five of his nine lifetime outings.
A pair of ‘new’ winners by Hes Watching recently were Foxy Patron, a three-year-old filly who won by 17 metres at Temora, and Makwala, who outstayed his rivals over 2600 metres at Addington.
Hes Watching was also represented by the fast North American three-year-old winners Night Watchman (1:56.6) and Applecorp Hanover (1:56.8).
From 57 foals in his first Australian crop, Hes Watching has had 35 starters for 21 winners and five placegetters.
