Lightly raced trotter Hesallmuscle (Muscle Hill) served notice he could be competing at the elite level in 12 months’ time when he outclassed his harness racing rivals in the Decoglaze Splashbacks Trot on Ballarat Cup Night.
Sent out the $1.40 favorite, Hesallmuscle worked to the lead shortly after the start and driver Mark Pitt was able to dictate the terms of the race to suit himself before increasing the tempo turning into the back straight on the final occasion.
Hesallmuscle left the opposition standing when Pitt released the reins with 500 metres to travel and the son of Muscle Hill bounded clear in the home straight scoring by 20 metres from Hot To Trot and Ebonys Avenger.
The win was a repeat of the five–year- old’s impressive all the way win at Bendigo the previous week where he rated 1:55.8.
“It was a similar field to last week and he had the barrier draw over them again,” Pit said.
“I think he has taken it to the next level with a bit of maturity and a bit of racing with trip away when he went to South Australia and then he had a short let up, and he’s come back in fine form,” he said.

Pitt believes the Emma Stewart prepared trotter is capable of reaching the top level.
“Maybe in 12 months’ time he can measure up to those horses going around in The Knight Pistol tonight,” he said.
“From racing what he racing against at the moment to the elite is a very big jump but let’s hope he does make that step and he gives the impression that he will.”
Hesallmuscle is compiling an imposing career record of eight wins and five placings from 18 life time starts.
