Highly touted harness racing four-year-old High Above (Captaintreacherous) bounded into TAB Eureka reckoning with a dominant win at Melton.
The Emma Stewart trained pacer unleashed a stunning sprint to round up the leaders in a 27.2 back straight quarter before putting a sizeable gap on his rivals in the home straight to score by 10 metres from Vee Em Gee Macray and Crime Writer.

High Above revealed his true credentials after being beaten in all three starts this time in as a short priced favorite, with champion reinswoman Kerryn Manning maintaining her perfect record of three wins behind the pacer from as many drives.
“I’ve got a good record on him,” Manning said.
“He was good tonight, a bit of a different horse to the last time I drove him as he was less wayward tonight and his manners are certainly improving,” she said.
Manning said High Above rates favorably with some of the best horses she has driven.
“He’s got such great high speed that he’s pretty thrilling horse to drive,” she said.
“He’s certainly got as much talent at a lot of the good horses that I’ve driven, he’s very green and has a few tricks but he has come a long way since I drove him at his first start.
He’s a tall horse and all legs and it’s a bit deceiving how fast he is going.”
The lightly raced half-brother to Ride High has now won four of his eight career starts.
