Standardbred breeding advocates Harness Breeders Victoria are this year delivering their popular online horse breeding education series Breed To Succeed as a live event in Shepparton.
Designed as a unique opportunity to network, find a mentor, access industry experts and learn the latest news and techniques in equine health, feeding, reproductive technology and pedigree matching, Breed To Succeed will take place at the Shepparton Harness Racing Club in Kialla at 4:30pm on Sunday 20 August.
The free event will support both current breeders in getting the most from their investment and also give confidence to newcomers to get started in this affordable and family-friendly aspect of the sport.
While previously delivered as an online video series, in 2023 Breed To Succeed will bring together expert panel speakers and industry trade stalls in an expo-style event. While they enjoy complimentary food and a cash bar, guests will hear from industry experts including nutritional researchers Dr Peter Huntington & Dr Clarissa Brown-Douglas, and equine veterinary medicine specialist, Dr Francesca Worsman.
They will also be able to seek advice from over a dozen trade stall holders from Victoriaās best studs, equine health and feed companies, and industry bodies.
Over $21,000 in door prizes are also on offer including a draw to win a service to Woodlands Studās dominant pacing sire, American Ideal ($11,000), Alabarās local star Vincent ($4,950) or Llowalong Farmsā trotting sensation Pastor Stephen ($4,950), open only to 2023 season members of HBV either current or those who join on the night (other terms and conditions apply).
Guests travelling from beyond the Goulburn Valley are encouraged to make a weekend of exploring the district with a special rates offered on accommodation at the Park Lake Hotel and Paradise Lakes Motel for Breed To Succeed ticket holders.
