Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Mr Ken Brown AM to the Board of HRNSW by Minister the Hon. David Harris.

Mr Ken Brown AM

Mr Brown has been granted an extended term of three years and four months, underscoring his invaluable contributions and leadership within the harness racing community.

Harness Racing New South Wales Chief Executive Peter Buckman expressed his enthusiasm for Mr Brown’s reappointment.

“Mr Brown’s extensive experience in governance, racing and sport and his dedication to harness racing have been instrumental in navigating the challenges and opportunities our industry faces,” Buckman said.

“His reappointment is a testament to his unwavering commitment and the trust placed in him by the community and the government alike.”
Further to his reappointment, the HRNSW Board in their most recent meeting, unanimously resolved to re-elect Mr Brown as Chairman.

This decision reflects the Board’s confidence in Mr Brown’s vision and leadership abilities, which have been pivotal in steering HRNSW towards sustained success.

Under Mr Brown’s guidance, HRNSW has achieved significant milestones in increasing prizemoney levels, enhancing welfare standards for our equine athletes, and engaging with a broader audience. His leadership has also been critical in fostering strategic partnerships and initiatives that continue to elevate harness racing within NSW and across the nation.

Mr Brown expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue his work with HRNSW.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence shown in me by Minister Harris and my colleagues on the Board,” he said.

“Whilst there are considerable challenges ahead of us, I am excited about the future of harness racing in NSW and I look forward to contributing further to our sport’s success and the joy it brings to our dedicated fans and participants.”
HRNSW and the harness racing community extend their congratulations to Mr Brown on his reappointment and re-election as Chairman.

With his proven leadership and passion for the sport, the future of harness racing in NSW is bright.
