Harness Racing Junior reinsmen Ross Druitt and Sam Ison have been added to the list of this year's Rising Stars competitors after the withdrawal of Tom Ison and Ellen Bartley. Both Tom Ison and Ellen Bartley competed in the 2015 Rising Stars series but have withdrawn for different reasons.
Tom Ison has been forced out of the series after he was suspended in a race at Tamworth and has been replaced by his brother Sam.
"There is nothing like a bit of brotherly love, but it is unfortunate Tom was suspended and Sam will now take his place in the series," HRNSW Chief Executive John Dumesny said.
Ellen Bartley has withdrawn from the series with Ross Druitt taking her place.
"After speaking with Ellen it was obvious that she was torn between her commitment to her stable and the opportunity given to her through the Rising Stars. On this occasion Ellen has decided to withdraw and a very capable junior driver Ross Druitt will take her place," Mr Dumesny added.
Sam Ison has won 12 races and has driven in 218 events. Sam is currently enjoying the best season of his career which started in 2011/12.
Ross Druitt has driven 12 winners in his career and has competed in 228 races. He first started driving in the 2011/12 season.
The other drivers competing in this year's Rising Stars are Ellen Rixon, Martelle Maguire, James Harding, Brad Elder, Mitch Turnbull, Tom Pay, Jason Grimson and Western Australia's Stuart McDonald.
