A tearaway performance by Idealogy (Aldebaran Eagle) was the main factor in his decisive harness racing win in the 2025 South Australian Square Trotters Association Two Year Old Parker Classic at Globe Derby on Saturday evening.

Idealogy who was arguably South Australia’s best juvenile trotter before he locked wheels in the Southern Cross Final a week ago was kept going by trainer Ryan Hryhorec for one last run before turning out for a spell.
And the decision paid dividends.
Although there were only seven runners the race developed much interest with the presence of the Victorian trotter Jilliby Bliss who was brought over by trainer Antti Ruokonen and he had every reason to feel confident as the filly had defeated older horses at only her second start at Gunbower.

Consequently she was the sole backmarker off 10 metres. And although she stepped off the mark cleanly driver Lochie Cook was intent on letting her settle down.
By contrast Idealogy flew the tapes early and was involved in an early battle with Oakden before taking over in front. Through sheer speed Idealogy broke up the field and once he established a lead of 25 metres it was left to the pack behind to do the chasing.

Jilliby Bliss didn’t really get going until half way along the back straight when she went past Oakden and Voucher Queen, but she was still about 20 metres behind Idealogy as he turned the corner when Hryhorec has a quick peek behind him. In the home straight she really knuckled down to her task and Idealogy was starting to shorten stride.
But the winning post was not far enough for Jilliby Bliss and she was just under eight metres behind Idealogy with Voucher Queen another 30 metres away in third.
The winner rated 2.7 for the 1800 metres and Hryhorec had indicated previously that Idealogy will go for a well earned spell with hopes of him returning better as a three year old.
