Top trotter Im Bobby (Majestic Son) proved his ability with a strong harness racing win coming off 30 metres to win the Aldebaran Park Trotters handicap at Melton on Saturday evening.

A brilliant beginner, Im Bobby was up ahead of half the field early with second favourite Ollivici also off the 30 metre mark moving up around the field early.
Gotfeelingsyouknow which also had good support found the early lead. Coming in for the bell lap, Ollivici issued a strong challenge for the lead but just as he was going to go to a clear lead, he started to race roughly and he broke up. Although he didn’t lose a great deal of ground that effectively put paid to his chances.
In the meantime James Herbertson was sitting patiently on Im Bobby and he issues a devastating sprint in the back straight to charge straight past Gotfeelingsyouknow and cleared away to win by just over ten metres from Gotfeelingsyouknow with Link In Bio finishing on fairly for third.
IM BOBBY DEC 20 REPLAY
Ollivici was subject to a veterinary inspection following the event.
Herbertson was full of praise for Im Bobby
You can’t ask anymore of him. Every time he steps out we go to war we either win it or we get a check. This horse has just come from small beginnings he was just a country horse for a long time. Something clicked and he’s just turned into the horse he is now. And he’s just a beast. He just loves racing. He’s a quirky individual that’s for sure.
I wanted to be behind Ollivici that’s what I wanted last week and it just didn’t work out that way. Just tactically it worked out perfectly tonight.
Im Bobby rated 1.58.4 for the trip including a slick final quarter of 28.8 seconds. Owned and trained by Eddie Tappe from Congupna near Shepparton, Im Bobby has had 98 starts for 20 wins and 28 placings for $225,890 in stake money.
As one of the most improved trotters in the State Im Bobby will be looking to step up in the big trotters races but he will surely face a sterling task against the likes of Keayang Zahara and The Locomotive.
