Reinsman Anthony Butt was realistic after drawing barrier five with Copy That for Saturday night’s $250,000 Blacks A Fake Championship at Albion Park.
“It is what it is,” he said.
“I don’t get too hung up on barrier draws because you never know what will happen.”
The other big factor of the starting positions is that reining champion King Of Swing drew barrier one.
“It’s a Group 1 so there’s always plenty of action and a few of the other drivers won’t die wondering,” said Butt.
Butt, who drove his first pacing Group 1 winner at Albion Park last Saturday night thanks to Copy That’s victory in the Sunshine Sprint, is very happy with his drive heading into this weekend’s 2680m Grand Circuit race.
“He showed in the Auckland Cup that he can do a bit of work and be there at the finish,” Butt said.
“I’ve got the confidence that I can put him into the race at some stage, he is very versatile.
“We just have to keep our fingers crossed and pray we make the right moves at the right time.”
Copy That defeated King Of Swing in last week’s Sunshine Sprint by a half-head.
The draw for their rematch is below:
