Top performing filly Its Maa Time (Captain Crunch) landed another classic with an all the way harness racing win In the Group 2 $100,000 Allwood Stud Westbred Classic Three year old fillies Final at Gloucester Park on Friday evening.
A noted frontrunner there was conjecture whether in a race of many speedsters that Its Maa Time would find the lead and she commenced quickly to be behind Reinette who showed breathtaking speed from her draw to lead. Aiden De Campo continued to press forward and in a race winning move found the lead.

Favourite Fakenit couldn’t gather enough speed from the pole and she was forced to race three back on the rails. The well supported Ruby Lovera was caught three wide early before Gary Hall Jnr settled her outside the leader.
Its Maa Time was pressured by Ruby Lovera in the back straight and De Campo had to shake her up. She responded by moving clear on the final bend but Fakinit had been extricated from the rails and was issuing a strong challenge at the top of the home straight with Reinette who had enjoyed a good trail behind the leader.
But Its Maa Time showed plenty of spirit and she held off Fakenit by two metres with Reinette a close third just in front of the unlucky Ruby Lou who was bottled away on the rails. In winning Its Maa Time returned a mile rate of 1.57.6.
ITS MAA TIME SEP 5 REPLAY
Its Maa Time won the APG 3YO Fillies Final earlier in the year and three weeks ago she was most impressive in the Bunbury Oaks.
The striking bay filly was a $60,000 purchase at the 2023 APG Perth yearling sale and is raced by a large syndicate of De Campo’s stable clients.
Its Maa Time’s dam was a useful mare in Victoria winning 15 races with a best rate of 1.55.3 and she is also the dam of another good pacer in Captain Maastricht.
Aiden De Campo was suitably relieved after the race especially as the filly had to survive a vets examination before the race.
“She was in a mood in the warm up. She was throwing her head around. I was a bit concerned myself but after trotting her for the vet she felt one hundred times better”.
“She gave us confidence and it was a super run. We had to do a fair bit of work in for the bell and down the back straight and stacked them up on the corner and she was good enough to get the job done down the straight”.
The three year olds colts and geldings $100,000 Final was taken out as expected by the warm favourite Lazi Dais (Rock N Roll Heaven) who held from pole in a fast run race.
LAZI DAIS SEP 5 REPLAY
Well rated by his trainer driver Ryan Bell Lazi Dais travelled smoothly in the lead. Captain Stirling was out three wide early before racing up on the outside to then give Last Hard Copy the one out and one back trail. Outsider Pinjarra Rocks followed up from the second row to settle behind the leader.
Elite Fleet who had been most impressive winning his heat was well back in the field along with Belly Up.
However when roused up Lazi Dais quickly moved into another gear and he was never troubled in his nine metre win over Pinjarra Rocks who ran a mighty race just edging out Last Hard Copy and a very game Captain Stirling. Lazy Dais ran his last quarter in 27.8 seconds for a slick mile rate of 1.57.
Lazy Dais didn’t do too much as a two year old but this time the gelding has won five races with three placings and he is now one of the State’s leading three year olds.
