Star mare Anntonia will have to overcome an awkward draw to win her heat of harness racing’s Riverina Championship at Wagga today.
The Group 1 winner will start outside the second row in barrier 12 due to the conditions of the race and her high national rating.
Anntonia has only been successful once in her five starts this year and today will be the first time this season that reinsman Jack Trainor drives her.
Trainor has had an impeccable record on Anntonia, winning 10 races with her.
However, he has not had the chance to drive Anntonia this season due to suspension and also a clashing race schedule with his talented mare Stylish Memphis.
Trainor will fly to New Zealand with Stylish Memphis on Sunday to contest Australasiaās first harness racing slot race, The Race, which will take place at Cambridge on April 14.
