Talented Auckland Reactor gelding Jazzy Star NZ sliced more than four seconds off his lifetime mark when he clocked 1:51.5 for the flying mile at Menangle on Tuesday (November 9).
Having his first start for four months, the six-year-old sat parked for the first 800 metres in 55.9. Sooled to the front at the half-mile peg, Jazzy Star proceeded to demoralise his chasing rivals, carving out quarters of 27.8 and 27.8.
He won easing down by 20.8 metres!
Jazzy Star has now won eight races and $81,088 in stakes.
He is out of the Village Jasper mare Shikaka and is her second foal and first winner.
The following night at Geelong, the Auckland Reactor five-year-old came from second last to notch his sixth win, clocking 1:57.2 for the mile.
In North America, Heās Gratis, a New Zealand bred son of Auckland Reactor, hoisted a fresh lifetime record of 1:54.2 leading throughout from the No. 8 gate at Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway, Ohio on Saturday (November 13).
