A daring harness racing drive by up and comer junior reinsman Jett Turnbull was the primary factor in Glitter Aint Gold (Bling It On) scoring a dashing win in the $100,000 Listed TAB Regional Championships State Final at Menangle last night.

In a keen betting race, Glitter Aint Gold who had won the Bathurst regional championship was favourite ahead of the Metropolitan regional winner Horn Player who was very impressive winning last week at Menangle.
Tomahawk Bart who also had some support as expected was expected to go to the lead but no sooner had he crossed he allowed Horn Player to take up the running. As the field entered the home straight for the first time Glitter Aint Gold made his lightning burst and he went so quickly he was able to go to the lead.
David Hewitt on Horn Player was content to follow Glitter Aint Gold. Turnbull kept the pace on Glitter Aint Gold and he still looked to be travelling strongly on the final bend. Horn Player had plenty of time to make up ground but Glitter Aint Gold showing real class was able to hold off Horn Player by just under three metres with Duggee Sloy just nudging out Tomahawk Bart for third.

Glitter Aint Gold is trained by Jett’s father who took over the training of the four year old gelding in July last year and he has shown rapid improvement since winning his start for Turnbull at Dubbo nearly 12 months ago.
In fact Glitter Aint Gold has won six of his twelve starts for Turnbull. The win continues the great success of young Jett Turnbull who at just 17 years of age already has chalked up 299 wins in his short career.
Hewitt was attempting to repeat the success of son Brad when he won the race twelve months ago with Extreme Sea. But despite finishing second Horn Player shows plenty of promise and is destined to win better races as he goes through the classes.
