Harness racing reinswoman Jodi Quinlan pressed the go button and Act Now did just that to demolish his rivals in the $200,000 Group 1 Breeders Crown Final for the three-year-old pacing boys at Melton on Saturday night.
The winning move was a third quarter in a scintillating 26.8 seconds that Act Now set in front, putting his 11 opponents out of the race.

That was the son of Somebeachsomewhere’s sixth win in-a-row with two Group 1 victories now nestled amongst that winning streak.
“He’s a good horse and was on song tonight,” said Quinlan.

“He pulled a shoe in the run last week and wasn’t as dominant but felt every bit as good tonight.
“He got away with an easy lead and as soon as I saw Beyond Delight come, I knew he was my main danger so away we went.
“The sky’s the limit with him and I’d love to see him sit on a genuine pace and reel off them.
“I keep saying he’s a Miracle Mile horse because he loves the short (trip).”
And Quinlan knows what it takes to win a Miracle Mile having won the 2004 edition with Sokyola at Harold Park.
Quinlan has now won 16 Group 1 races in her career with Act Now providing two of them.

Act Now is trained by Emma Stewart who had already collected Group 1 and Group 2 success earlier in the night with Just A Bit Touchy and Honolua Bay respectively.
Stewart has trained Act Now throughout his career.
“We let him do what he wants at home so he thinks he’s the best and at the moment he is,” said Stewart.
“Fingers crossed, we have struggled to transition them from young horses to open grade and we are going to take a different path with this fella.”
Act Now clocked 1:55.3 to beat Yambukian and Bettor Call Me.
