Champion trotter Just Believe (Orlando Vici) is circulating in rare air after making a harness racing clean sweep of the Inter Dominion Trotting Championship for the second successive year.

Sent out a prohibitive $1.20 favorite, the Jess Tubbs trained Just Believe was beaten for the lead by Mufasa Metro however Greg Sugars was able to control a moderate tempo.
Just Believe joined the leader around the home turn before forging clear in the home straight scoring by five metres from a game Mufasa Metro in a slick 55.8 last 800 metres.
“He did a super job tonight,” Sugars said.
“He’s just a phenomenal horse, he’s just got a ‘never say die’ attitude,” he said.
JUST BELIEVE REPLAY
Sugars said Just Believe always gives his best in his races.
“I can’t remember a time even in a couple of races when things haven’t gone to plan and he’s been beaten he’s never come off the track tired, he just runs through the line no matter where he is,” he said.
“He’s just a very special animal.”
Sugars acknowledged the efforts of his wife and indeed all the staff at their Myrniong stables.
“I’m so proud of everyone at Larajay Farm and Jess has done an awesome job and she is the backbone of the stable, I’m so proud to celebrate this with her,” he said.
Sugars said the Yabby Dam Farms bred son of Orlando Vici is the consummate racehorse.
“He’s just a professional racehorse, he’s so perfect and there is really nothing he can’t do and it make my job a hell of a lot easier,” he said.
Sugars admitted the sense of relief was palatable after the race
“It was a very different build up this time around as there was so much expectation,” he said.
“We dreamt a big dream going to Sweden earlier this year and there were always concerns that it was going to put this carnival in doubt.”
Just Believe finished third in the 2021 Inter Dominion Trotting Championship Grand Final and is unbeaten in six subsequent heats and two Grand Finals.
